PAUL KNEPPER is Reader in Criminology in the Department of Sociological Studies, and an Associate of the Centre for Criminological Research, at the University of Sheffield, UK. He has previously published The Invention of International Crime: A Global Issue in the Making, 1881-1914 (Palgrave, 2009).
