Today, international missions deployed to observe elections in different parts of the world are seen as necessary and even legitimizing electoral results. The observation work of these missions often includes the analysis of both the electoral system and the electoral legislation of the host state, which is comparable to a post-legislative study of the electoral legislation. However, what is done with this resource, and to what extent domestic electoral legislation is improved as a result of election observation, are questions that this paper attempts to address.
