Conflicts live everywhere in the world and media represents them from variety angles. Media is an essential tool for successful foreign policy. Every country has its own foreign policy and interests. Foreign policy of a country could be defined in a relation to local interests. The main goal of this study is to find out if the media is in favor of presenting foreign news in relation to its own country's interests or not. The representation of Nagorno Karabakh conflict in New York Times newspaper was chosen as a sample for this study. Historical background of the conflict, international news flow, conflict news value, peace journalism, and etc have been debated in this study. Several questions such as how the Nagorno Karabakh conflict represented in NYT newspaper, which aspects of the conflict was touched and how the coverage of the conflict has changed through the time, tried to be answered.
