The purpose of this book is to study the international standards on the prohibition of arbitrary detention and judicial protection. The main objective is to establish the broadest parameters for the protection of liberty against arbitrary and illegal detentions and the application of judicial protection so that it is prompt and timely. In relation to the right to personal liberty, the mechanisms of protection in the International Treaties and Conventions as well as in the Constitution and laws are analyzed, as well as in the National Jurisprudence and Inter-American Jurisprudence on free movement against arbitrary and illegal detentions, committed by police officers, prosecutors, and by judges. The purpose is to identify the mechanisms of broader protection in international and national norms, as well as in Inter-American and national jurisprudence.
