Tourism involves the temporary movement of people to destinations outside their normal places of work and residence, the activities undertaken during their stay in those destinations and the facilities created to cater for their needs. Tourists contribute to sales, profits, jobs, tax revenues, and income in an area. Tourism has a variety of economic impacts. An economic impact analysis of tourism activity normally focuses on changes in sales, income, and employment in a region resulting from tourism activity. The tourism industry represents one of the largest and fastest growing activities in all over the world especially in Asia. The broad objective of this study is to assess the contribution of International tourism to economic growth. The specific objectives to be pursued are to examine the pattern of the economic growth and to investigate the contribution of International tourism towards economic growth.
