The INTERNATIONAL YEARBOOK COMMUNICATION DESIGN 2011/2012, consisting of two volumes, serves as a barometer for innovative and exceptional achievements by showing the most fascinating recent works from all over the world, honoured within the red dot award: communication design.
VOLUME 1 features the classical field of print works like corporate design, annual reports, ad campaigns as well as the huge field of editorial works, calendars, magazines, posters, illustrations and typography.
VOLUME 2 presents the field of packaging design, the ambitious category event design in addition with signage systems as well as the new media, such as online and web design, user interfaces, digital games, spots, films and sound design. This volume also includes the fresh creativity of talented design students and young designers.
As a source of inspiration the yearbook does not only provide an overview of trend-setting designs. It also introduces the people behind the scenes: portraits and interviews of the greatest creative spirits as well as an interview with the "red dot: agency of the year" and an essay about the "red dot: client of the year" complete this established reference work of current communication design.

Prof. Dr. Peter Zec ist Präsident von red dot und dem Design Zentrum Nordrhein Westfalen in Essen. Seit mehr als 20 Jahren ist er als Designberater für zahlreiche Unternehmen tätig. Er erhielt weltweite Beachtung durch seine Vorträge zum Thema Design in über 30 Ländern.
