Conflict is an integral component of being and acts as an object of interdisciplinary research. In the psychological literature the issues concerning the causes, structure, dynamics of conflicts are covered, certain attention is paid to the issues of conflict resolution and management. However, to date, the problem of interpersonal conflicts of persons with developmental disorders, in particular the mentally retarded, has not been sufficiently studied. Meanwhile, by virtue of typological features conflicts of this category arise especially often and have the expressed destructive character that negatively affects formation of interpersonal relations, skills of constructive communication, possibilities of socialization of mentally retarded. The present work is devoted to the study of features of conflicts in interpersonal relations of adolescents with intellectual disabilities and issues of their prevention. This study can be interesting and useful for researchers in the field of conflictology, special psychology and correctional pedagogy, specialists working with mentally retarded children, students of psychology and pedagogy departments, etc.
