Lafcadio Hearn was one of the original American expatriates to move to Japan; after living in New Orleans for some years, writing stories, he moved on to Tokyo, where he married a Japanese woman and changed his name. Hearn is best known for his supernatural tales.

Lafcadio Hearn est un écrivain irlandais, qui prendra la nationalité japonaise sous le nom de Yakumo Koizumi. Il passe les quatorze dernières années de sa vie au Japon. Il fut un des grands introducteurs en Europe de la culture et de la littérature japonaises.
