Seeing with her own eyes how our humanity never learns from its mistakes, how its efforts are day after day falling into the abyss of forgetfulness and negligence by others, the words streamed through the author's heart and seeped into the papers. Love is being shunned or used, dreams are wasted or easily substituted, fear inhabits everyone. These words and poems stem from a sadness looking for a glimpse of happiness and hope, and still struggling not to give up.

Dina Al Kabani is a psychiatrist from a country torn by conflict. Having witnessed the horrifying fate that plagued her birth place and home country for many years, and having heard the pleas and sadness of her patients, she finally had the courage to speak these words hidden since her teenage years out loud, and went on this publishing journey.
