This book finds that Intra-state conflict and the resultant internal displacement as one of the greatest challenges facing the Globe today. However, despite international actors and legal mechanisms being in place, the IDPs still face many challenges. The study endeavored to assess the role of the Kenya Red-Cross Society in addressing the plight of Internally Displaced Persons as a result of 2007/8 PEV in Uasin-Gishu County. The study was guided by the following objectives; to find out whether the government of Kenya has a policy on internal displacement, to find out why the government of Kenya appointed the Kenya Red Cross Society to be the lead agency in coordinating humanitarian assistance to IDPs during 2007/8 Post-Election violence, to find out the challenges facing Red Cross Society in addressing humanitarian crisis of IDPs and to assess the current human rights situation of IDPs in Uasin-Gishu County, to find out the possible solutions to the challenges facing the Red Cross Society in addressing the humanitarian crisis of IDPs in Uasin-Gishu county, and to evaluate humanitarian organizations interventions in Kenyan Crisis.
