Autorenporträt
Melissa Burnham Ph.D., IMH-E(R), is professor of human development and family science and early childhood education and serves as the executive coordinator of the Child and Family Research Center at the University of Nevada, Reno. Dr. Burnham obtained an endorsement in Infant Mental Health as a Research/Faculty Mentor in 2023. She obtained her Ph.D. in human development from the University of California, Davis, in 2002; her master's degree in human development and family studies (HDFS) from the University of Nevada, Reno, in 1996; and her bachelor's degree in HDFS from the University of Nevada, Reno, in 1994. She has been a faculty member at Nevada since the fall of 2001. Her research and areas of expertise include child development, early childhood education, and infant and early childhood mental health. Eva Essa, Ph.D., is a retired Foundation Professor at the University of Nevada, Reno, where she taught early childhood education and human development for 41 years. She received a Ph.D. in developmental psychology from Utah State University in 1978; an M.S. in human development and family studies (HDFS) from the University of Nevada, Reno, in 1971; and a B.S. in journalism from the University of Southern California in 1963. Dr. Essa's research and writing on topics related to early childhood education have been published in a variety of professional journals and books.
