Prof. Ross ist Gründer und Herausgeber des Journals "Probability in the Engineering and Informational Sciences". Er ist Fellow des Institute of Mathematical Statistics und Träger des Humboldt U.S. Senior Scientist Award.
Nach langjähriger und bedeutsamer Tätigkeit an der University of California in Berkeley hat Professor Ross nun die Daniel J. Epstein Professur of Industrial Systems Engineering an der University of Southern California inne.
