This book integrates analytical and digital solutions through Alternative Transients Program (ATP) software, recognized for its use all over the world in academia and in the electric power industry, utilizing a didactic approach appropriate for graduate students and industry professionals alike. This book presents an approach to solving singular-function differential equations representing the transient and steady-state dynamics of a circuit in a structured manner, and without the need for physical reasoning to set initial conditions to zero plus (0+). It also provides, for each problem presented, the exact analytical solution as well as the corresponding digital solution through a computer program based on the Electromagnetics Transients Program (EMTP).Of interest to undergraduate and graduate students, as well as industry practitioners, this book fills the gap between classic works in the field of electrical circuits and more advanced works in the field of transients inelectrical power systems, facilitating a full understanding of digital and analytical modeling and solution of transients in basic circuits.Hinweis: Dieser Artikel kann nur an eine deutsche Lieferadresse ausgeliefert werden.
Professor José Carlos Goulart de Siqueira gained his mechanical and electrical engineering degree in 1966, from the Institute Electrotechnical of Itajuba. He taught at the same institution, renamed as Itajuba Federal School of Engineering - EFEI, and was Full Professor there from 1975 until his retirement in 2011. He led the process of transformation of EFEI in Federal University of Itajuba - UNIFEI in 2002, being named its first Rector. He also taught part-time for nearly two decades at the National Telecommunications Institute - INATEL in Santa Rita do Sapucai, MG. Since his retirement, he has served as Volunteer Professor at UNIFEI. Professor Goulart has received numerous honors from alumni and from various institutions, notably the Santos Dumont and Inconfidencia medals. Professor Benedito Donizeti Bonatto gained his B.Sc. from the Federal School of Engineering of Itajuba in 1991, his M.Sc. from the State University of Campinas in 1995 and his Ph.D. from the University ofBritish Columbia in 2001. He now works as Associate Professor at UNIFEI, where he has been since 2007. He was Visiting Professor at the University of British Columbia in 2013, and he has just finished Visiting Professor position at Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, Spain. He has published over 140 conference papers, a book chapter and a book and is Senior Member of the IEEE.
