They conjured perilous power to defend their city. Now the broken magic could push them to their deaths. Parker Berenson is downright miserable. Missing his alien lover and resenting his pack duties, the alpha werewolf suspects the dangerous magical tryst he cast with a vampire and a mage has damaged all three. And he's convinced something is seriously wrong when he can't stop himself from draining a homeless man of his blood. Garrett Larkin is terrified. As dark urges threaten to consume her, the bewildered mage believes any proximity to both Parker and Seattle's vampire Master will destroy her. Desperate, she flees to France to seek her mentor's help in reversing the high-stakes spell and her ever-spiraling descent into ravenous doom. When the woman of Parker's dreams returns from the stars, his joy is short-lived when she informs him her nemesis has followed her. Worse, though she is the reason he has come to Earth, there is every possibility his visit will become permanent. And Garrett fears if the vampire king's weakness from their miscast magic is discovered, the three of them will never survive. Can the troubled trio restore their powers and fend off an otherworldly attack before they're all destroyed?
Autorenporträt
Roxanne Bland grew up in Washington, D.C. As a tender child, she discovered strange new worlds in the adult speculative fiction stacks in her local libraries and in bookstores, which forced her into playing constant games of cat-and-mouse with librarians and bookstore staff who insisted she belonged in the children's section. A self-described "fugitive from reality," she has always colored outside the lines and in her early years of writing, saw no reason why a story couldn't be written combining the genres she loved and did so despite being told it wasn't possible. Today, she writes mixed-genre speculative fiction that might include paranormal urban fantasy, romance, science fiction, horror, and anything else that piques her deviant imagination.
