The documentation of African art objects suffered neglect; this effort is an attempt at putting on records various features of the pottery objects in that Ita Yemoo Yoruba pottery museum. Technical details such as style, morphological characters, measurements, functionality, are necessary datalabels for documentation. This study examined pottery objects in Ita Yemoo Museum collection; it adopted qualitative, descriptive and evaluative approach of data collection and analysis from the study population which consisted of all the two hundred and sixteen (216) pottery objects in Ita Yemoo Pottery Museum; Inventorying Ita Yemoo museum Yoruba pottery collection is germane to morphologically attributing some characters to Yoruba pottery which could be placed in a database - retrieval system of African-Yoruba pottery objects.This efforts is in tandem with other similar works that are going to be done in future; however, this publication is going to serve as a fundamental and springboard to future endeavours in African art historical documentation for taxonomic description identifying pottery objects in Ita Yemoo pottery museum and that of Yoruba pottery objects generally.
