São Tome and Principe is an agricultural country whose main crop is cocoa production, 51 percent of the country's population is engaged in agricultural production, the main crops being cocoa, dried coconut, coffee and palm oil. Its privileged location, plus the wonderful natural landscapes, provide the country with vast tourism resources. At the same time, the oil industry is still in its early stages of development, and the country has relatively rich forest, biological and fishing resources. According to the "2021 World Investment Report" published by the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), it points out that by the end of 2020, Sao Tome and Principe had attracted US$310 million in stock of foreign direct investment. Based on statistics from the Chinese Ministry of Commerce, by the end of 2020, China's stock of direct investment in São Tomé and Príncipe was worth US$1.99 million.
