Child sexual abuse violates the rights to life, liberty, and dignity, and it is crucial to shield children from such abuse in order to maintain their right to bodily integrity.The State of Tamil Nadu is experiencing an increase in POCSO cases.POCSO Act cases from 2003 were still open in Tamil Nadu as of 2018.Of these cases, 219 have been pending for the past three years, 509 for longer than two years, and 1275 for longer than one and a half years.According to data on conviction rates, although there have been more cases filed under the POCSO Act over time, the conviction rate has remained disturbingly low.This book throws light on various aspects of child abuse and exploitation.
