Investigating the prevalence and intensity of urogenital schistosomiasis among school going pupils from public schools of ILembe and UThungulu health districts. The prevalence of urogenital schistosomiasis in a given community allows that particular community to be graded according to the World Health Organisation for the type and frequency of treatment, that community would require. It is recommended to treat neglected tropical diseases early in-order to reduce morbidity associated with them. This thesis highlights the methods and statistical procedures which can be followed to map the prevalence and intensity of urogenital schistosomiasis in preparation for mass drug treatment.
