Transition metals and rare-earth metals co-activated CdS nanoparticles form a new class of luminescent materials with very strong and stable Visible-light emission. TM and RE ions doped CdS nanoparticles find variety of applications in spintronic devices such as spin filters or spin polarizers, solar cells, optoelectronic devices, etc. In order to know the usefulness of the present RE and TM ions doped CdS nanoparticles, it is proposed to fabricate spintronic based devices and study its performance. The results presented in this work demonstrate that Ce doped CdS nanoparticles can find many potential applications in spintronic based devices. Intense emission was observed for the incorporation of cerium and manganese ions into CdS nanoparticles, which will be useful for many spintronic applications.
