I am upset by the total blindness and suppression that others assume is experienced by women who must wear the face covering or a burqa. Yet are we any different? I am upset by the total blindness and suppression that others assume is experienced by women who must wear the face covering or a burqa. Yet are we any different? I compare their suppression to our own blindness when we thoughtlessly follow the dictates of our society or of any religion. I discuss the twenty-six rules by which many of us are controlled. Autorenporträt
At present I am writing under my maiden name, Barbara Douglass. When this book was first written, it garnered a lot of objections from those people closest to me. I then wrote under the name Mom1. This, apparently, is an indication that I was a second mother to the man who encouraged me to continue and self-publish a few copies. I had known his real mother before her death. I was writing this at an age when I was searching for life-and-death answers. I had not found them in established religious doctrines or ideas in society. Since a few books were given to friends and acquaintances, many readers have said it aligned with their thought processes or was a help to them in finding their own answers.
