This research examines the practices of the Kisenda Copper Company (KICC) around the principle of community participation in this company located at about 120 km from Lubumbashi. It is important to know that community participation in the KICC company should not be seen as a raw data, which is achieved in a mechanical way, but rather as a long process that involves a number of social actors. The first is the KICC company itself, which is the main actor. The second category of actors is made up of civil society organisations and the third category is made up of traditional chiefs. In this community participation, there are practices known as "information and awareness-raising" for the local community and practices known as "social" or humanitarian.
