With its diverse range of uses, maize is one of Madagascar's most important crops. However, maize yields among farmers are still low. Fertilization plays a key role in increasing plant yields. To this end, AGRIVET carried out an experiment on maize fertilization in the Vakinankaratra region, a maize-growing area. The aim of the study was to determine the effects of different fertilizers on maize. Different combinations and doses of fertilizers with covers were tested on IRAT 200 maize, a variety already adopted by farmers. Two types of phosphate fertilizer were used: TSP and calcite. For nitrogen (N), three different doses were applied: 0Kg/Ha N, 60Kg/Ha N and 120Kg/Ha N. Three cover doses were used: 0%, 30% and 60%.
