Iris is a meditation on perception. It brings to light the way Jones, a queer person of color, is viewed in the world versus how they themself understand the world around them. Written briefly after their father's passing, Iris travels through a time of unexpected grief, where it becomes clear how interwoven love and grief are. How life tends to braid joy with sorrow, and how through the lens of queer identities, life itself becomes an expansive and possible home.
