Given that neurodegenerative disorders are common in elderly people and that disease-free brains, especially in the oldest old, are rare, it is possible that normal brain ageing forms a continuum with neurodegeneration and disease because of a person's genetics and environment, determine the type of neurodegenerative disease that will dominate their brain eventually
