Iron deficiency is globally the most common form of nutrient deficiency. The prevalence of iron deficiency is estimated to be about 30% of total world population. Iron has low dissolution rate and absorption in the body. Thus there is a need to develop chewable tablets with the enhanced absorption of iron so as to overcome the iron deficiency states. The present book emphasized utilization of natural sources of iron and formulating into the chewable tablet to avoid dose variations and toxicities of synthetic iron compounds.
