Strategies for managing irrigation can lead to better outcomes, such as performance, quality fruit and efficient use of irrigation water. The water is one of the most important natural resource for agriculture. Due to population growth, this resource is becoming scarce. The Irrigation water use efficiency is key to sustainability and profitability of crop. The high water consumption in areas where water is limited encourages the development of new techniques and efficiently manage this resource. Proper irrigation management is fundamental importance for achieving high productivity in order to reduce the cost and improve the rational use-water. This book, therefore, provides irrigation management strategies in bell pepper on open field and under shade. Irrigation treatments were the application of 0.25, 0.50, 0.75 and 1.0 of evapotranspiration and a control treatment (no irrigation). Drip irrigation system was used and shade mesh was 50% shading. Crop reference evaporation was calculated based on the method of Penman-Monteith/FAO and crop evapotranspiration with dual crop coefficient. The water excess and deficit affect the phenology, yield, plant growth and leaf area development.
