IN THE UNIVERSE OF BULLIES, IS SILENCE REALLY, REALLY GOLDEN? There is no doubt that when a given society is plagued with bullies, human existence in such a given society is usually threatened or under threat until that society fights back to reclaim its own. IN THE UNIVERSE OF BULLIES, IS SILENCE REALLY, REALLY GOLDEN? There is no doubt that when a given society is plagued with bullies, human existence in such a given society is usually threatened or under threat until that society fights back to reclaim its own. The world is becoming smaller and smaller each day, such that it seems that your problem is becoming my problem and my problem is becoming your problem. Consider a household that is being robbed at gun point for example, would your thought be one that lacks concern for the wellbeing of that household because you want to "mind your own business"? Or would you extend a helping hand by calling the law enforcers to that household for who knows, the next unfortunate door may be yours? Bully is nearly as old as man on the Earth. Scripturally, Cain literally bullied his brother Abel to death20. For just a little while the world that survived the great flood of Noah's day was happy to see an end to the Nephilim's22 brutal era. Bullying is a global problem that can only be solved globally. Yes, bullying is a global problem that can only be solved globally. It typifies the fact that while no country is an island, no man can be an island even if he wants to. We all have survival instinct that is characterized by the embedded will not to die, but to live.21 Since bullying is a global problem that can only be solved by the Supreme being, the Highest of the Highest, the designer of life as we know it, the priceless question is, what can you do to help mitigate this global problem that has plagued mankind from time immemorial? The intention of this play is to provide a formidable answer to the question of whether or not silence can indeed be golden most of the time, if not all of the time with respect to dealing with bullies. You will soon find out in this play that bullies present themselves in different forms and shapes and not limited to trusted ones in the name of family members. I will tell my story through the eyes of animated characters. Some of these characters will see through the human eyes and learn from their track records-the human behavior under certain conditions at a given time. Regardless to the unorthodox behavior of the animal world, mankind can learn a lesson or two from them about how the powerless can be made powerful and thus, curb if not completely eliminate the tyranny of bullies. My characters are a family of Fox, which includes Mamma Fox named Sassy, her oldest son Zach and her younger son Sean. A family of Chickens with six little Chicks, and a family of Ducks. Cassandra is the name of Mamma Duck and she has four little Ducklings, the oldest one being Kazzy, followed by Mooney, Zaffy, and Akuna. The story begins when members of the Fox family decide that they want to make a feast from both the families of Chickens and Ducks but the Fox family is indecisive respecting which family they should devour first. Sassy sent her two boys with a message to both Mamma Chicken and Mamma Duck. The message is that at five o'clock PM today, both families (Chicken and Duck) will become dinner to the Fox Family. The result? Understandably, Mamma Chicken does not take the news too kindly as she rumbles with unkind words all over the little Foxes. What about Mamma Duck? She does not say a word. She occasionally quacks as she aimlessly walks about with her neck in constant forward and backward motion as though in expectation of something great. So the little Foxes mistaken Mamma Duck's quacking for silence. They could not make a word out of her quacks. When these little Foxes tell Mamma Fox of the outcome, Mamma Fox decides to leave the Duck's family alone since Mamma Duck said practically nothing nor insult her little ones. We will soon however, find out how the Foxes feel about the Chicken's family. What is the moral of this story and how can you apply it in your life?
