Georges Tamer is Professor of Oriental Philology and Islamic Studies at the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg. He has published extensively on the Qurʾān, Qurʾānic hermeneutics, Arabic philosophy and its reception in modern times, rational discourses in Islam, and interreligious relationships.
