Islamic credit card or better known as credit card-i is one of the alternative banking products introduced by Islamic financial institutions in Malaysia to substitute the conventional banking products. The Islamic credit card has been recognized as the Shari'ah compliant product by Bank Negara Shari'ah Advisory Council. It was constituted by Bank Negara Malaysia under the Guidelines of Islamic Credit Card dated on 1st August 2004. Generally, a number of models have been adopted to produce the Islamic credit card in Muslim country which is based on bay' al-inah, tawarruq, Íiwalah, ujrah, kafalah and wakalah. In Malaysia, the Islamic credit card is executed by using the contract of bay' al-inah, tawarruq and ujrah. The Islamic contracts, operation and structure of Islamic credit card had been studied thoroughly by the authors. This book has reached the conclusion that the contracts applied in Malaysian Islamic credit card which are bay' al innah, tawarruq and ujrah can be considered as non-compliants product if the elements of fictitious transaction and operations are still executed.
