Dan Stanford grew up in Norman, Oklahoma. After graduating from the University of Oklahoma with a degree in Law Enforcement Administration, Dan became a Deputy United States Marshal. He was stationed in Sacramento, California, Oklahoma City and Boise, Idaho. Dan arrested hundreds of fugitives, transported thousands of prisoners and protected federal judges, U.S. Attorneys and protected witnesses. He provided security to some of the biggest, high threat trials and on the worst criminals in the last two and a half decades. He responded to national emergencies, including the Los Angeles Riots, Hurricane Andrew in Miami and the Oklahoma City Bombing. Dan was a Firearms Instructor, Expandable Baton Instructor and Physical Fitness specialist for the Marshals Service. After nineteen years as a Criminal Investigator/Deputy U.S. Marshal, Dan was promoted to Supervisory Deputy and served in Boise, Idaho for another four years. Dan retired in 2012 and since then, has continued to work in private security, firearms instruction and court security. During this same time, Dan raised six step children with his wife Mindy. Dan and Mindy live in Idaho and plan to eventually retire for real there.
