Autorenporträt
Trevor Newland is a Vancouver-based author/illustrator of fantasy and speculative fiction. Inspired by the Golden Age of pulp sci-fi, M. John Harrison, Ted Chiang and Alan Moore among others, Newland digests and reshapes the arcane. And with artwork often compared to that of illustrators like Shaun Tan, his books push readers into fictional worlds always off kilter, askew and full of wonder that comes at a price. With The Marysburgh Vortex Trilogy, he offers up a mix of time travel, amnesia, dark magic and out-of-control AI, all orchestrated to stop a small band of misfits fighting to save the world from imminent ecological collapse. Is it safe to round the next corner in The Marysburgh Vortex? Will the tether of reality rip? And what happens when we get lost in The Different?
