Autorenporträt
Dorothy Cart was born in the Ozark Mountain area that provides the setting for this novel. She enlisted in the Air Force in 1944 and ran a typing pool of young Indian men in Karachi, India, near the end of World War II. The winner of many honors for her overseas service and volunteer work, including Oklahoma's Woman Veteran of the Year, she is also the author of many novels, short stories, poems, a screen play and a teleplay.
