(Text: German/English) Before James Stirling became famous in the 80s with such spectural buildings as the Stuttgart Staatsgalerie, he had already been involved in highly prestigious project designs for decades. Even prior to 1975 the architect had pioneered important solutions for a number of challenging architectural tasks in the field of housing, university buildings and industrial and office building. This book presents his major projects in detail, and includes an illustrated list of all his works during the period 1950-1974.
