Autorenporträt
William Green's (1915-2005) 'discovery' of Japanese woodblock prints came during his service as a medical service corps officer in Korea and Japan in the 1950s. In 1973 he founded the Ukiyo-e Society of America under whose auspices he has spent eight years recording and compiling the bibliography Japanese woodblock prints. He has also written several articles on the subject of Ukiyo-e and on early American collectors of this unique Japanese art form.
