Sonja McGiboney obtained her Bachelors of Music degree from West Virginia University in 1987. When working on her master's degree she met and married Dale then followed him on his twenty-five-year Army Band career. She has self-published twenty books in the Jazzy's Books series. Each book combines beautiful photography with lyrical writing and rhyme to create engaging, concept books for young children. Her dog Jazzy is the star in all of them.In June, 2023, Sonja, Dale and Jazzy moved to Gadsden, AL to be closer to her family and continues to write from her new home in Gadsden. Another Jazzy book is in the works as well as several middle-grade novels.
