Jeanne Beker, CM (b. March 19, 1952) is a renowned Canadian television personality, fashion editor, author, and entrepreneur. Known for her influential career in fashion journalism, she has made substantial contributions to Canadian media and fashion. Family and Early Life Jeanne Beker was born in Toronto, Ontario, to Joseph and Bronia Beker, Jewish Holocaust survivors from Kozova, Poland (now in Ukraine), who immigrated to Canada after World War II. Beker married Toronto radio personality Bob Magee in 1986, and together they have two daughters. The couple divorced in 1998. Beginnings in Theatre and Journalism Beker attended William Lyon Mackenzie Collegiate Institute and began her career in entertainment with a role in the CBC sitcom Toby in 1968. Pursuing her passion, she studied theatre at York University and later trained in mime in Paris under Étienne Decroux. Upon returning to Canada, she worked with CBC Radio in St. John's as an arts and entertainment reporter.
