Autorenporträt
Kathryn Tucker Windham began her eight-decade writing career as one of the first female daily newspaper reporters in Alabama. She went on to become one of America's best-loved storytellers and chroniclers of Southern folklore, delighting audiences at "tale-telling" festivals and as a commentator on NPR and Alabama Public Radio. She wrote two dozen successful books, including six collections of Jeffrey stories, regional cookbooks, two memoirs, and a collection of photos. Windham died in 2011 at the age of ninety-three shortly before the publication of her final work, She, a humorous but wise reflection on growing old.
