Jerry Thorpe and the Misfits is a tale that illustrates the age-old dilemma of the "new kid" trying to fit in.Thirteen-year-old, Jerry Thorpe, has high hopes of becoming known and well-liked at his new school; and he sets out on a mission to do just that! However, a group of outcasts-an unpopular bunch, known as the Misfits, get to him before he can, even, make his all-important first impression. Trying-desperately-to steer clear of the Misfits, Jerry joins the school's most notorious gang. He ends up doing despicable things and getting into trouble. Before long, he discovers that being popular isn't what it's cracked up to be-especially after his gang turns on him. On top of feeling all alone and struggling with the choices he'd made, Jerry finds himself in a "life or death" situation. Seeing no way out, he calls upon God to help him-but, as we all know, "God works in mysterious ways," and He brings about a most unexpected solution. He brings into "play" that most unlikely, undesirable group of kids-the Misfits!

Autorenporträt
At age twenty-seven, I received a prophecy-one of my first prophecies-saying that, someday, I'd write short stories. And, sometimes-actually-most always, to get you to a certain place, God moves you without your even knowing it. You think you're doing something for one reason, but God has "another" reason in mind. For example-the reason I started writing the book in the first place . . . but that story is for another time. When I'd finished writing Jerry Thorpe and the Misfits, my husband recognized that this book could offer a Christian alternative to the Harry Potter phenomenon-which includes the books and other occult paraphernalia being in many Christian homes-even today! Once he shared his vision, I immediately started the next book of the Jerry Thorpe and the Misfits series and began adding more of God's miraculous power, faith exploits, signs and wonders to the stories. Having grown up as a young Christian in public schools, I know, quite well, what being a "misfit" feels like. And, during my 20-plus year walk of faith and ministry, one of the most moving revelations for me has been to fully understand just how precious all children are to God-as parent / Father. My being able to contribute to their healthy spiritual growth by providing wholesome, Godly alternatives to wizards, vampires and video games, is both a pleasure and an honor for me as an author.
