BRACHA SLAE has a Master's degree in Geography from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. She is engaged in researching and documenting the Old City, including its pre-1948 Jewish community, and in research on its historical geography. RUTH KARK is Professor of Historical Geography at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. She has written and edited 25 books and published 200 articles on the history and historical geography of Palestine/The Holy Land/Israel.
