Count Jerzy Detloff Fleming, Georg Detlev von Flemming (1699 1771) was a Polish and Saxon Artillery General in 1738, Grand Treasurer of Lithuania in 1746 1764 and voivode of Pomeranian Voivodship in 1766. He was born on 3March 1699 in Iven, Swedish Pomerania, Holy Roman Empire. His family was a renowned magnate family from Brandenburg Pomerania, with long traditions of military service. His father was a Prussian Field Marshal Heino Heinrich von Flemming. Unlike his father, Georg started his military career in the service of the Crown of Poland. Since 1724 he commanded the Warsaw-based Queen's Own Regiment. A political ally of the Czartoryski family at the royal court, he married twice with two daughters of Micha Fryderyk Czartoryski, the royal chancellor (the second wife being Antonina Czartoryska). His daughter, Izabela Fleming, became married to another renown politician and statesman Adam Kazimierz Czartoryski. His alliance with the Czartoryskis sped up his career. In 1738 he was promoted to the rank of general of artillery and on 3 August 1744 he received the Order of the White Eagle.
