The present research has as main objective to analyze the education provided by the Society of Jesus during colonial Brazil, in a period of approximately 210 years, being the main cutout the years from 1549 to 1759, when occurs the Pombal Reform, which had as main objective to bring the Indians to the side of Christianity and thus try to prevent the spread of Protestantism in Brazil.This educational model was implanted in our country during a period of 210 years, the Jesuits here founded their colleges, schools, reductions, missions, etc.To accomplish this whole process of acculturation brought from Europe had to adapt to many customs of a people with a culture very different from theirs, modified the culture of these people, changed their way of life but were they who accepted the challenge of moving to a land so far unknown by Europeans and pass their pedagogy to these people, the Indians, those who already lived here before the arrival of the colonizer and who have their livesforever changed.
