Bartholomew imagines Jesus as a cowboy who comes to defend him when he's bullied. He imagines a humorous version of Jesus and tells the story like it's really happening, with Jesus spraying kids who bully him with a water gun and all kinds of funny scenarios, only by the end of the story and the end of his imaginings for self-satisfaction, and because he really would enjoy if Jesus physically came to help him, he and we rememeber, Jesus wouldn't react like that. Jesus in Town is a sweet, beautiful, funny book that makes Jesus accessible and enjoyable in chidren's lives and yet preserves the Truth and Honour of Jesus.
