Part Two of Jesus of Nazareth begins with a strategic withdrawal to Galilee where Jesus activates the next part of his plan. He traveled all over Galilee, visiting villages, towns, and cities. He developed a community of followers, taught them and trained them, then led them to Jerusalem to witness his confrontation with the Temple authorities. So far so good. Jesus defined his mission as being sent to the "Lost sheep of the House of Israel" but that responsibility kept expanding in spite of his reluctance. Who was not included? He understood himself to be the messiah for Israel only to find he had signed on to be Savior of the World. By the time he realized the bait and switch it was too late. The Garden of Gethsemane moment was upon him. With fear and trembling he took upon himself that enormous task of being the fulcrum on which all would turn. The High priests made their bets, Pilate did his best and the disciples locked their doors against the night, but all to little effect for the plan of God was running, and the Divine intent would not be denied.
