Jim was born in a village in the heart of England. As a young man three happenings shaped his life: he became a christian, he went to Tanganyika as an Education Officer, there he and his wife found each other. Sitting round the fire under the african stars, talking over the african culture and the past history of the tribe, gave an insight into life as it was long ago. Working in more remote parts of Africa in those days was like going back in history to an earlier age. They found intelligent and resourceful people, living simple lives, without the modern trappings. Jim and his wife got into helping projects in remote rural areas. Later they helped churches in Nepal and visited churches in South America. Jim and his wife lived in half a dozen countries. They led Bible study and house groups and kept in touch with christians. They retired to Spain, where Jim lives now, alone, in a village community.
