Aviva Ben-Ur is Professor of Judaic and Near Eastern Studies at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. She is the author of Jewish Autonomy in a Slave Society. Wim Klooster is Robert H. and Virginia N. Scotland Endowed Chair in History and International Relations at Clark University. He is the author of Revolutions in the Atlantic World and The Dutch Moment.
