Autorenporträt
Margaret Eldridge is a mother, a grandmother, a teacher, an actor, a singer, a reader, a copy editor and the author of New Mountain, New River, New Home? The Tasmanian Hmong. She has taught English as a second language, and provided support and care for numerous refugees and migrants for over forty years. In 2007, she was awarded the AM for services to international students, migrants and refugees. She is a loving mother of four children and a caring grandmother of eight grandchildren and three step-grandchildren. She migrated to Tasmania in 1964 from the UK. She has numerous friends in Hobart and worldwide. She has written many jingles, some of which are here in print. She wishes to make people smile and to raise funds for various causes that are dear to her heart. This book captures some of the special times in her life and the lives of her friends. Margaret holds a Bachelor of Arts, a Graduate Diploma in Educational Studies (TESOL) and a Master of Arts, all from the University of Tasmania and an Honorary degree in Education from Roehampton University, UK. She lives in Hobart with her two faithful dogs. Feature stories and articles about her achievements have appeared in the Mercury, the University of Tasmania Alumni Magazine, the ABC news etc.
