Autorenporträt
Jorge Guzman was in Santiago, Chile, in 1930. He studied Castilian Pedagogy at the University of Chile, and received a doctorate in Romance Philology at the University of Iowa. In 1968, he published his first novel, JOB BOJ and won second place in a novel contest organized by the Editorial Seix Barral. His other novels, Ay Mama Ines, The Law of the Henhouse, and When the Fig Tree Blossoms have won several awards in his native Chile.
