Shaima Alraiy tiene un MBA de la Maastricht School of Management (MSM), Países Bajos. Es directora de proyectos de "SOUL for Development" (ONG) en el Yemen desde 2006 y es profesora adjunta de la Facultad de Idiomas de la Universidad de Sana'a. Trabajó como instructora de inglés en varias instituciones yemeníes y luego fue nombrada Gerente Ejecutiva.
