The concept of job satisfaction has been widely defined by different people. (Locke 1979) specified that job satisfaction is a pleasurable or positive emotional state resulting from the appraisal of one s job experiences. Locke (1996) defined job satisfaction as a satisfactory emotion level that results from the success of the appraisement working value. It is a specifc application of a social attitude (Hulin & Judge, 2003) and can be inferred from a respondent s placement of the attitude object (i.e., the job) along a scale of evaluation (Brayfeld & Crockett, 1955; Van Scotter & Motowidlo, 1996; Weiss, 2002). In line with this attitudinal conceptualization, we adopt Brief s (1998, p. 86) definition of job satisfaction as an internal state that is expressed by affectively and cognitively evaluating an experienced job with some degree of favor or disfavor. The previous researchers have studied job satisfaction in relation to some demographic variables and individual factors, the current study examined job satisfaction in relation to organizational citizenship behaviour, organizational commitment and work- family balance.
