The Johnsonburg paper mill changed with the times, keeping the industrial process modern and providing employment throughout the years to local residents. Logs have funneled into the mil from near and far, and paper has flowed out to enlighten the nations. Paper from Johnsonburg entertained the readers of the Saturday Evening Post. Many of the early residents to the community were Italian-American immigrants. They have retained their ethnic identity and are proud ot their heritage. Johnsonburg celebrated its bicentennial in 2010 with a large parade." -- From cover.

DENNIS MCGEEHAN is a retired college history professor who has worked at both Penn State University and the University of Pittsburgh. He has also worked for many years as a freelance photographer travelling around the world numerous times. He has also worked as a photographer for the Philadelphia Foundation For Architecture. He is the author of several books on St. Marys (PA) and Elk County (PA) history.
